Gerry Shanahan
Gerry Shanahan Gerry has been shooting mainly sport and other subjects for around 40 years. He started taking photos for Meath Chronicle in 1977, taking news, features and sports photography. He joined John Quirke Photography in around 1987, when got the contract for sport. He set up ‘Sport in Motion Photography’ in 2008. When John Quirke retired in 2022, he went into partnership with Navan photographer David Mullen where they both are contracted to Meath Chronicle and other publications for sports photography. He has covered RDS Show Jumping, International Eventing, League of Ireland/International Soccer, Rugby, Horse Racing, Hurling, Football (including All Ireland Finals), American Football and many other sports. He has been published in The Star, Irish Horse magazine, Meath Chronicle, North Meath Herald, Irish Field, Southern Star, The Herald, Leinster Leader, Kildare Nationalist, Leinster Express, The Argus, The Offaly Independent. He has won many awards for his sports photography.
